i don't wanna teach something, but tell something.
i don't think that this blog will change the whole situation, but
i hope it would change someone's thinking, even just a little.

Though i still believe that design is not only one answer,
i would not say design here is definitely good/correct and Taiwan design is bad/wrong,
design has unlimited possibility.
Yes, unlimited possibility.
But, do we limit ourselves?
Design is innovative.
Does every boss do something innovative?
Or just follow and follow un-innovative?
Do every great mass media understand what design is? what innovation is?
Though the design environment is immature, just begining,
how long the excuse can be used?
Time and tide wait for no one, including TAIWAN.
In Taiwan, EVERYONE is almost crazy for six characters "A-W-A-R-D-S."
i thank to the company that hold competitions, i am one of the beneficiary.
Because of the company and the competition, design becomes the most popular industry in a short time.
But it just like a bubble that is weak and it's just in the beginning.
Why don't we focus on think, idea, creative?
Face the truth; if one wanna get a award, sometimes it has some trick.
If students just focus the trick, don't they narrow the thinking?
Getting awards, mass media report, be famous, but then?
Another similar one appears again?
Play the same game. same trick. same design. same . same . same . same .
What will be happened in Taiwan design's future?
Maybe someone would say it's what Taiwan style is.
But, we just see a small part, how do you know this is Taiwan style?
We ignore too much thing; just focus one thing/six characters.
Is it good to design?
Design isn't the only one way.
Why do we only focus the one way?
Think about Samsung experience, they educate their manager what design is,
why important design is, what design will bring,
make the staff really understand and trust design.
Try to UNDERSTAND the spirit of design, not just skin-deep, but deep,
please please please please please please.
But How?
How to do it in Taiwan?
It's hard, very hard.
The problem lies in education and environment.

The situation NEVER changes, if we can't change the way educating students.
The situation NEVER changes, if the mass media don't try to understand design deeper.
The situation NEVER changes, if we just care about the FAMOUS DESIGNER/celebrity, don't care idea.
The Situation NEVER changes, if...

It's very complex situation, we have worked in the same way for a long time,
It's hard to walk first step.
You will feel great if you try it,
but the environment in Taiwan is immature to accept it.
i truly hope the boss/influential people can try to spread/understand design,
NOT just put money in design, but don't know why invest in design.
The more one understand design, the more miracles we will create.

Though human's memory is weak, the blog may be forgot in a short time,
i hope everyone have seen this blog can keep it in mind.
It's a revolution, if wnna change, it can't be achieved by one person,
but many people, including media.

"你們好, 陌生人
雖然我依舊相信設計不是只有一個答案,
而是有無限的可能.
是的, 有無限的可能.
但台灣卻限制了自己嗎?
設計是創新.
但台灣的老闆們, 你們創新了嗎?
或只是一眛的跟隨, 而且連跟隨的方式都不創新?
各位偉大的媒體朋友們, 你們瞭解設計是什麼嗎? 創新是什麼嗎?
雖然台灣的設計環境還不成熟, 才剛開始.
這樣的藉口還可以用多久?
時間真的不等人, 也不會等台灣.
在台灣, 幾乎每個人, 為了"A-W-A-R-D-S"這六個英文字母瘋狂.
我感謝那些辦比賽的公司, 我也是那眾多收益者之一.
因為這些公司, 這些比賽, 設計在短時間內成為最受歡迎的產業.
但這些就像是泡泡一樣, 非常脆弱.
為什麼我們不注重思考, 想法, 創意?
面對事實吧, 要得個奬, 其實是有一些慣用的模式和小技巧.
如果學生只注重這些小技巧, 會不會窄化了想法?
一個人得了?, 媒體報導, 變有名, 然後呢?
之後又有另一個這樣的人出現.
玩著同樣的遊戲. 同樣的技巧. 同樣的設計. 同樣的 . 同樣的 .同樣的 .同樣的 .
台灣的設計以後會變怎樣?
也許有人會說這就是台灣的風格阿.
但是我們只試過的一小部分的方向, 如何知道這就是台灣的風格?
我們忽略了太多事, 只在乎一件事/那六個英文字母.
這對設計是好事嗎?

設計不是只有一條路.
但為什麼我們只走這一條路?
想想Samsung的經驗, 他們告訴他們的高階管理者設計是什麼.
設計為什麼重要. 設計可以帶來什麼.
讓他們的員工瞭解設計, 相信設計.
拜託 拜託 拜託 拜託 拜託 拜託
試著去深刻瞭解設計的核心精神, 而不是膚淺的看待設計.
但是要怎麼做?
在台灣要怎麼做?
難, 非常難.
問題在於教育和環境.

情況不會改變, 如果我們不能改變教學生的方式.
情況不會改變, 如果大眾媒體不試著瞭解設計深一點.
情況不會改變, 如果我們只在乎所謂的名設計師/名人, 而不在乎創意.
情況不會改變, 如果....

這是複雜的狀況, 因為我們一直以來都用相同的方式做事.
要踏出第一步很難.
如果你試過, 那感覺會非常棒,
但台灣的環境還沒能接受這些改變.
在這裡我誠心的希望每個人/老闆/具有影響力的人可以試著去散播/瞭解設計.
不要只是把錢丟進設計, 而不知道為什麼要投資設計.
瞭解設計越多, 創造的奇蹟也會越多.

雖然人的記憶是非常短暫的, 這篇文章可能很快就會被遺忘,
但我還是希望看過這篇文章的人, 能將這些記在心中.
這是一場革命, 要靠一個人去改變是不可能的.
而是要每個人都參與, 包括媒體.
